Minima - Fucina di Quartiere

Co-design and collective construction of the new headquarters for the Fucina Salentina cultural association

  • “Minima – Fucina di Quartiere” becomes the new operational headquarters of the association, opening to the city and the neighborhood as a versatile and fluid space that welcomes all citizens.Through events, courses, workshops, and the annual Eppoi Festival in the San Pio neighborhood, the association has rooted itself in the community, fostering a vibrant and participatory environment. The project, a result of collective effort, reflects the association’s essence: upcycling, grassroots participation, color, versatility, hospitality, and sharing. The new furniture, created with the involvement of both members and residents, creatively reuses pallets, branches, and scrap wood to form unique, custom-made, mobile elements that enable flexible use of the space. The central feature of Minima is the “Libreria Albero” (Tree Library), which wraps around a pillar, holding books, objects, and thoughts from the community. Today, Minima serves as a reference point for the San Pio neighborhood community: a unique cultural space open to people of all ages.
