Renovation and Redistribution of Interior Spaces in an Apartment on the First Floor of a Small Condominium from the Late 1970s

  • Plant and functional renovation of a 140 sqm apartment.
The project was developed through continuous dialogue and collaboration with the client, aiming to minimize demolition and maximize the use of space to allow for multiple housing solutions.
Targeted demolitions were planned to accommodate new bathrooms and new doorways, enabling the creation of three potential living solutions: a three-room unit, a two-room unit, and an equipped room with a kitchenette and independent bathroom.

Specific solutions were designed to raise the finished floor level of the central corridor in order to ensure the proper slope for the drainage system of the new bathrooms.

The original Venetian terrazzo flooring in the main rooms was preserved, with the addition of new porcelain stoneware flooring and a carefully placed “rug” in colored terrazzo that matches the tones of the existing floors.
