Interior Design Proposal for an Artist's Living Room/Kitchen
The apartment, dating back to the early 1980s, features a rather cramped kitchen corner enclosed by a partition wall that separates it from the living room.
The project proposes a new layout tailored to the needs of the client, a performance artist who wishes to transform her home into a space for social gatherings and music.
The design includes the reuse of the existing wooden kitchen furniture, reinterpreted and integrated with new modular elements.
The kitchen opens up to the living room, yet retains a sense of privacy thanks to the addition of an island unit that functions both as a cooking area and a bar table.
The use of space is versatile and fluid, allowing for various functions through the creation of custom-made folding tables, which can be neatly stored within the built-in wall unit in the living area.
The style is fresh and welcoming, with new green tones blending harmoniously with the existing wood finishes and stoneware flooring.
This is a space to be lived in, constantly shifting between private and public dimensions—an environment designed to foster new connections and relationships. -
