Concorso di idee per i Piani di Nesso e la Piana del Tivano

Tourist-recreational redevelopment of the Piana del Tivano through the activation of a system of trekking and cycling routes and services.

• The project

  Starting from a territorial analysis, the project aims to refunctionalize the area though its strategic position connecting the two branches of the Lario. The strategy is to strengthen the connection between Nesso and Onno through the Piana del Tivano, in order to insert it into a triangular attractive system that has Nesso, Onno and Bellagio as its poles. Through a reinterpretation of the natural elements of the area (from Nesso to Sormano, crossing Zelbio and Veleso), a complex fruition system has been traced. The main focus of the project is the discovery of water in a relationship that is sometimes direct, sometimes only visual. The system is designed to respond to different ways of interaction with the landscape by users, through:

  • a cycle route;

  • a trekking route;

  • the strengthening of public transport lines.

  Faced with the changeability of the landscape, colors and water, the project takes stone as a reference as a permanent element, using it both as a limit for paths immersed in nature and for the creation of installations with the dual function of landmarks and information panels. The plantation of birch trees works as a limit and demarcation of the project areas, in order to minimize the anthropic impact of the project and renaturalize the landscape.
