Artworks made with paper cut hang on old frames

• The project

  The artwork takes place from a reflection on the beyond, on the act of creating relationships between the full and the empty. The work appears twice: the first through the material support in papercut, the second through its shadow.

  It is the game of opposites: full / empty, light / shadow, material / immaterial.
  The background can constantly change based on where the frame is positioned.
  The papercut emerges from the frame, the drawing does not have a pre-established shape, but arises from the need to impress the sheet with the scalpel.
  The cut is clean, meticulous, like an embroidered center in carving. The reference to the art of embroidery is vivid, but re-semanticized. The frame is suspended in time, it has lost its old painting, it becomes a skeleton within which the elsewhere moves.

  Shadows, in their mutability, force us to pay attention, to stop and stare, remaining suspended in the time of the "here and now" in which magic happens.
