BIM modelling and designing process of a sunshade facade for the new Palasport in Lecce

  • Study of facade solutions of the new Palasport for fencing, gymnastics and tennis. The project aim is to improve the aesthetic quality, the insertion in the context and the bioclimatic performance of the new construction, financed with PNRR funds, is currently under construction. The assignment was carried out on behalf of Eng. Barriera and Eng. Lecciso, and included an initial volumetric and elevations study in order to evaluate the insertion of a sunshade facade that could act as a "second skin" for the building.

    The system is designed to minimize quantities and have the best aesthetic performance, creating a specific dematerialization perspective effect on the north/east sides.

    In order to choose the most advantageous hypothesis from an economic and qualitative point of view, study involved an in-depth analysis of different systems and materials to opt for a WPC system.

    The project was modeled entirely in BIM. The 3d model was used for extracting the drawings  for the final delivery to the Municipality.
